Banff Castle is a community facility which rents space to a diverse range of groups and organisations. Many of our users are well established in the community while others use the facilities for one off events such as festivals, markets, fundraisers.
Below is a list of our regular users and for further information contact should be made directly with the group or the castle.
- Banff Art Club - The Art Club meet every Tuesday and Thursday from 10am til noon in their own art rooms on the second floor of the castle. During the year the club takes part in a variety of exhibitions including COAST (last weekend May) and their annual summer exhibition (late July) and the Castle's annual Christmas exhibition & fair. They also arrange a variety of arts demonstrations for members and the general public. For further details please contact the club's president, Pearl Acton on 01261 832860
- Banff & Macduff Business Association - hold their committee meetings in the castle on the third Thursday of the month. For details of their activities follow the link to their website: www.banff-macduff.com
- Banff & Macduff Community Trust - is one of Banff Castle's residents. Their office is on the ground floor and is open Mon-Fri between 9am and 5pm. Leanne Carter is the Operations & Development Manager. She can be contacted on 01261 815185. The soon to be launced website is www.bmct.co.uk
- Banff Castle Pipe Band - this is a fairly new band which practises every Thursday on the ground floor, and in the grounds of the castle in the summer. They are becoming increasingly involved in performing at local events and fundraisers. For details of sessions and/or performances contact Andrew Cook on 01261 818732.
- Banff Preservation & Heritage Society - regularly hold their committee meetings in the castle and host lectures at various times throughout the year. They recently published high quality, hard back community history book 'The Book of Banff: Royal and Ancient Burgh' which traces the elements of the burgh's history from inception to modern times. - Banffshire Coast Tourism Partnership - is also a resident of Banff Castle. Their office is next to the Community Trust on the ground floor. Sandra Scrudis and Louise Myles are the team who promote the diverse tourist services available in Banffshire and the office is open Mon-Fri from 10am to 2pm. - Cinema Experience - held on fortnightly: Friday Filmnights from 7.30pm and Saturday Matinee from 2.30pm
- Qi Gong and Baltic Dancing with Francesca
- Deveron Arts & Folklore Trust - where the Arts & Folklore come together to communicate in small groups, in an exciting venture providing a platform for performance, exhibition, practice. contact
